We realize that members of SDA have not been applying to the call for fiber artists unless they were also members of SAQA. Please forward this to your members as we are extending the open call to December 21. The vision of this exhibition depends on the variations on fiber that we see in SDA.
Volusia Wrapped in Fiber is a fiber extravaganza in Volusia County,
Florida. The last time I did something like this was with the HGA
Convergence in 2008. HGA was in Tampa and I ran I-4 Corridor: Stretching
Threads across Florida (well, I made it to Orlando!). This one is smaller
in area but larger in scale of projects planned. If you know or are a
vendor, yarn bomber, or want to teach/lecture, please spread the word to
contact me at email@example.com.
<http://www.saqacallforentries3.com/> is the link to sign up for the exhibition - you do not have to log in to sign up! This is open to all SAQA and SDA artists as well as an invitation to special artists. Please read the prospectus below and let me know if you have any questions.
We are looking for the exceptional works that you created. We have 16-20 foot ceilings in Gateway - lots of room to float your art - and hundreds of feet for hanging art on walls or putting them on pedestals....If you made it with any type of fiber or used a fiber technique to create it, it fits our definition of acceptable works. No three layers connected by stitches necessary for this fiber extravaganza! But those are certainly acceptable too!
These are the scheduled dates for the two galleries for which your art would be considered. Work will be shipped back to you by the end of the closing week.

It does work. I just went there and entered my three pieces. It was a little time consuming getting everything ready, but it was welll worth the effort. Here are photos of my entries.
